Biography
Uta Tiggesmeier is a sculptor and printmaker, living and working in London (United Kingdom) and Arles (South of France) .
The artist was born in Germany and grew up on a modern farm in Westphalia, Uta had an international career in publishing, communications and marketing, fashion and interior design before becoming a full-time artist. She graduated from Heatherley School of Fine Art in London in 2012 and was awarded the Heatherley Sculpture Prize in the same year. In November 2015 she won the “Public Choice” Prize, awarded by the Broomhill Art and Sculpture Foundation,UK, for emerging artists. Recent exhibitions include: A solo show at the Chappelle de la Charité, Arles and a solo show at the Hotel Jules César, Arles, . Participation in the group exhibition "Small is Beautiful - la genèse d'une Sculpture à grande échelle", Arles. The "Eco-Feminism Festival London 2021 and 2024“, "Shapeshifting", a solo-show in Brussels, Belgium, "Totem” at Poppy and Pierre Salinger Foundation in France, ‘One and Three’ at KPMG London Headquarters, Canary Wharf; ‘12@Menier’, a collaborative artist led group show at The Menier Gallery, Southwark, London; ‘London- Berlin - Contemporary Art by Women’ and "Human" at the German Embassy in London. She has completed numerous commissions for private art collectors in Europe and the United States.
